The historic town of Colyton, 2 miles, has picturesque narrow streets and a town square with a range of local shops, pubs and restaurants. The ancient market town of Honiton is 4 miles away and has a wide selection of shops, railway station and access to the A30 and M5. There are street markets on a Tuesday and Saturday, and regular farmers’ markets. Honiton is noted for its lacemaking and pottery, and an abundance of antique shops line the main street. Seaton Tramway is close by and operates narrow gauge heritage trams between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton in East Devon’s glorious Axe Valley. The trams travelling alongside the River Axe estuary pass through two nature reserves, and give an unrivalled view of the abundant wading bird life.
