Nympy Barn is a dog-friendly cottage, situated in the delightful Cotswolds village of Nympsfield on the Edge of the Severn Valley. The cottage is positioned in an unspoiled medieval Cotswold non-working farm, which has been lovingly created from cartsheds. 

Perched above the white sands and crystal-clear waters of Porthminster Beach and just a short stroll from St Ives’ iconic winding streets, this beautiful townhouse forms part of an exclusive collection of boutique seaside properties and couldn’t be more perfectly positioned as an idyllic coastal getaway if it tried.

Beautifully designed to create sociable spaces for converging in as well as sanctuaries to retreat to, the property’s layout flows between two floors, with the open plan living /cooking and entertainment area being upstairs, and two elegant bedrooms (both of which are en-suite) being found on the ground floor.

Light and airy, the living room boasts sliding doors which open to a fantastic Juliet balcony, and it’s here that guests can unwind in blissful relaxation on two stylish sofas to enjoy an exclusive vantage point over the beach and waves. A contemporary kitchen with its island (which doubles as a breakfast bar) means morning coffees and dinner preparations are a sociable affair; and for warmer evenings when the Cornish sun sets in all its splendour on the horizon, there’s a stunning furnished courtyard where fresh-air dining and evening drinks can be shared.

Downstairs, the master bedroom is a dream, with sliding doors opening out to another Juliet balcony that overlooks the sea, and the super king size bed with its luxurious linens making the perfect place to indulge in long morning lie-ins or afternoon nap. The second bedroom is also generously proportioned and beautifully furnished, with its zip and lock twin beds offering versatility to suit families with children of all ages, as well as couples and friends.

Situated on The Terrace within a stone’s throw from the heart of St Ives, 3 Porthminster Mews is just a two-minute walk from the town’s culture-packed streets which meander past boutique shops and artisan eateries down to its postcard-worthy harbour. The white sands of the Blue Flag Porthminster beach are moments away, and with its award-winning café, beachside facilities and clear waters, it’s easy to see why it’s been rated by visitors and locals alike as one of the top three beaches in the UK. Coastal walks abound in the area so for a slightly more energetic days as well as incredible coastal views, guests can wander the scenic South West Coast path from Porthminster Beach to Porthminster Point and on to Carbis Bay. Further afield and easily accessible by car are the well-known towns and beaches in the area including those of Hayle and Gwithian, and for a close-to-home indulgence there’s the Harbour Hotel and Spa which offers a range of facilities that include an indoor pool, treatment rooms and a restaurant/bar with outdoor terrace.

Welcoming up to sixteen guests and a clutch of pooches, this bright and vibey luxury home has tons of sprawling space to unwind in (as well as quiet corners to recline in), and offers the perfect place to converge with friends and family. Inside are seven bedrooms and six bathrooms (four of which are en-suite) as well as a fab kitchen / diner with enough space for everyone to get involved in the food prep. Sinkable sofas and a wide, wall-mounted TV invite lazy afternoons of lounging around while a cinema room complete with 90”projector means there’s plenty to keep both kids and grown-ups entertained even in wetter weather.

Days out and about are spent exploring the surrounding tors or kayaking on the River Tone, after which it’s time to head back to the house and whip up a mojito in the Pineapple Bar. Challenge each other to a game of pool before ambling out to the huge private garden for a chill; dotted with vibrant bean bags and rattan seating, this is the perfect space for laid back socializing, with a bubbling hot tub making an ideal spot for a bit of stargazing. Light up the (twin) barbecues and chuck a few fillet steaks on the fire before popping open a bottle of fizz and chatting the night away; we'd love to tell you that time stands still, but the blissful escapism infused into every minute of your stay at Key West Cottage comes pretty close.
