Bwlch Y Person Barns are beautiful conversions of traditions Welsh long barns. Families will appreciate the separate recreational area with football posts and nets, picnic bench and table set away from the cottages. For added enjoyment, all four cottages feature their own private hot tubs in their enclosed patios.
All are ideally placed for exploring the dramatic and truly scenic Ceredigion coastline. The picturesque and colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is only 6 miles away where there is a selection of interesting independent shops and a great choice of restaurants and eateries including, fish and chips, ice cream parlour and fine dining. The National Trust house and gardens of Llanerchaeron are 4 miles away and from here there’s a delightful level pedestrian country footpath, suitable for bikes, pushchairs or wheelchairs, which leads into Aberaeron. Pretty New Quay with boats bobbing about in the harbour is just a few miles further on, and is definitely worth a visit. You must look out for the resident pods of bottlenose dolphins seen in the bay on an almost daily basis! Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Set on a working farm, this converted holiday barn is ideally situated for walking in Snowdonia, exploring the Lleyn Peninsula, and a 3-mile walk way and cycle path is across the road. It is cosy with modern conveniences and access to the beach (a few minutes’ walk over railway via public crossing). Guests can bring their own horses, and charges can be arranged directly with the owner. Nearby are fishing, horse riding along the beach, golf or explore the hidden coves. The picturesque fishing town of Aberaeron is only six miles away with shops and its large harbour encased by pastel-shaded Georgian houses. A short drive inland leads to the rural and traditional towns of Lampeter and Tregaron, where the Welsh language is mostly used by the locals. Tregaron feels almost untouched by the 21st century and is a bastion of the Welsh language and culture. The river running through the town centre leads to Cors Caron, a national nature reserve of peat bog which is one of the most impressive wildlife areas in Wales; home to rare marsh grasses, black adders, buzzards and even the occasional red kite. Close to the Snowdonia National Park and a 20-minute drive to Snowdon itself, these three spacious, attractive and comfortable barn conversions boast stunning views over beautiful countryside. Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, and a fine selection of shops, restaurants and pubs is just 4 miles away, and is also the start of the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys into the heart of Snowdonia. Lying peacefully in a rural location adjoining the owners’ home, this well-presented holiday cottage is just a stone’s throw from Llandeilo. This bustling, historic town has thriving independent shops and is fast getting a reputation for attracting foodies, with a good selection of pubs, cafés and bistros. Visit the beautiful National Trust property of Dinefwr Castle and Park, and Newton House. Set near the famous Brecon Beacon Mountains (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Brechfa Forest, the area abounds with fantastic walks and is a natural playground for ramblers, birdwatchers and mountain bikers. Carmarthen and Llandovery are well worth a visit, offering plenty of shops, traditional pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance. The Dolaucothi Gold Mines are well worth a visit (tours all year round), and Gwili steam railway, the National Botanical Gardens and iconic castles, including Carreg Cennen, Dryslywn and Kidwelly, are all within easy reach, as are the glorious beaches of Carmarthenshire. Maesydderwen, meaning oak field, started life as a working farm and later became a country inn, but is now a collection of delightful holiday cottages, beautifully situated within the living landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The charming market town of Llandeilo, with chic shops and an array of good restaurants, cafes and pubs, is just over three miles away. This holiday property has CCTV and has been renovated by the owners who live on-site, and boasts a fantastic hot tub and comfortable accommodation ideal for families, friends or couples. The property has been awarded Bronze in the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards for self catering accommodation of the year 2018/2019 (3 units or more). There is an abundance of wildlife to see and enjoy from the grounds including woodpecker, siskin, marsh tit, goldfinch, nuthatch and wild roe deer. Red kites can also often be seen soaring overhead and there is a feeding station a 20-minute drive away. You can leave the car behind and enjoy wonderful walks directly from the cottage. If you can drag yourself away from Maesydderwen, there are the beautiful castles of Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr nearby, and the dammed lake of Llyn Y Fan Fach at the western border of the Black Mountains. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, 11 miles, with its great glasshouse dome at its centre, is a year round attraction, and within the Brecon Beacons National Park there are masses of paths and trails for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, horse riders and wildlife watchers. Adrenaline sports such as paragliding, canoeing, rafting and abseiling can also be organised within the national park. Fishing is available in the nearby Towy Valley. Beach 30 miles. Dildre, named after an ancestral family farm in the area is a delightful two kingsize bedroom holiday property, all on one level, attached to the owner’s home. Situated within their working sheep farm in a rural location, Dildre has been thoughtfully furnished to give holidaymakers a very comfortable stay. The kitchen/dining room which also has a comfy sofa to enjoy the views, has direct access through the French doors on to a secluded patio, which is a tranquil place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink. There you will find seating for four, a table and the hot tub. The cosy separate living room also provides direct access to another seating area at the front of the property, overlooking the farm to the countryside and hills beyond. The cottage has two kingsize double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and a second shower room, making it perfect for couples or friends holidaying together. The land is encircled by a footpath and bridleway of approximately 2 miles. If you wish to order your supermarket groceries to be delivered on the day you arrive the owners will take delivery and put all your shopping away for you in advance of your arrival so that your wine is chilling in the fridge!
Dildre is ideally situated for exploring this diverse region of West Wales, and is perfect for a weekend break or a longer stay with award winning beaches (many pet-friendly year round), sandy coves, sea cliffs, caves and wonderful wildlife, amazing sunsets and starry skies. Less than 10 miles away, you can discover the attractive Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful houses and an array of independent shops and lots of cafés, restaurants and pubs. There are many events and festivals held annually within the town, including a mackerel festival, the festival of Welsh ponies and cobs, beer and cider festival and a rugby sevens event. The National Trust Georgian country estate of Llanerchaeron, just 2½ miles south east of Aberaeron, can be reached from the town along a wide level pedestrian pathway, ideal for cyclists, pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Just a bit further down the coast, you will find the seaside town of New Quay, where the houses cling to the rocks, and the long harbour wall is the perfect place to enjoy fish and chips whilst you try to spot the regular visitors of bottlenose dolphins or just watch the boats bobbing. Boat trips are available in season and offer a spectacular view of the coastline, and the bay is home to an amazing variety of wildlife, both above and under the waves. A 20-minute drive towards the Cambrian Mountains will bring you the historic market town of Tregaron, centre for ‘Trotian’ - horse trotting and carriage racing. The annual summer event attracts competitors from all over the UK and Ireland. It is also the home of the Welsh Gold Centre selling Celtic inspired designs. Just outside the town, you can discover the Cors Caron Nature Reserve covering 2,000 acres.
Don’t forget to visit the seaside town of Aberystwyth whilst you are here and enjoy a ride on the Vale of Rheidol steam train to Devil’s bridge and waterfalls or take the electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill to see the panoramic view of the coastline. Starlight is situated on 15 acres of the owner’s land with unspoilt countryside views, there are woodlands to enjoy and a stream running through the site. Starlight has been renovated to a high standard in 2021 and has wheelchair access paths around the site. Nearby, explore the historic castles of Kidwelly, Dynevor and Carew, and learn the rich history of the medieval times. Spend days visiting the market towns of Carmarthen and Laugharne, which was home to the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, and is renowned for its iconic boat house, historic castle, and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. Less than a 30-minute drive away are the coastal resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot, offering sandy beaches, boutique-style shops, and thrilling leisure parks, including Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm.
