Trefriw is blessed with two of the most spectacular lakes (Geirionydd and Crafnant). Both lakes lie in the most stunning surroundings and offer different facilities. Geirionydd offers watersports for everyone (paddle and powerboating) whilst Crafnant is a much more peaceful environment. Abererch, WalesSet on a working farm, this converted stable is close to Pwllheli and Criccieth. Ideally situated for exploring the Lleyn Peninsula and a 3 mile walk way and cycle path is across the road. Hen Ysgubor is a ground floor apartment situated below Ysgubor Uchaf which is the first floor apartment. They overlook the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, just off the coastal road to Fairbourne. Both properties are close for the beautiful Mawddach Estuary footpath and coastal trail/cycle path and direct access from the farm leads down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth.

Conveniently located half way between the two very popular coastal villages of Criccieth and Porthmadog, Tyddyn Iolyn is an excellent base to explore this delightful area, with a multitude of amazing walks, fantastic cycling opportunities and a fine selection of visitor attractions nearby.
Porthmadog is the departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the world famous Ffestiniog Railway as it winds its spectacular way through superb scenery up into the Snowdonia Mountains. The pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, location of the cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’ is also close by. Criccieth is a pretty village watched over by a medieval castle, and boasts a lovely beach and a good selection of restaurants and shops. There are numerous public footpaths for walkers to enjoy and a section of the North Wales cycle route cuts through Llanllechid. In around ten minutes you may drive to Penryhn Castle owned by the National Trust with its grand rooms and attractive gardens. Or if you prefer a little retail therapy the city of Bangor is a further five minutes away. Ask for the quick route to Aber Falls and you could be at the start of a really nice and not too arduous walk in about 15 minutes to see the waterfall. Slightly further afield there are numerous attractive places to visit both seaside and hillside.
