    The village of Elmley Castle has a beautiful tree lined main street with many black and white and old red brick cottages, with a pub at the end which is only half a mile from the lodge. The 11th-century Norman and Medieval castle, where the village derives its name, has long since disappeared but the earthworks still remain in the nearby deer park. The nearby market towns of Pershore and Evesham have a range of shops, restaurants and pubs and are only 3 and 5 miles away, and can also be accessed by the local bus route which departs from outside the village pub.

Ashby Cottage was separated from Ashby House in the early 1970’s to form a separate residence.     Long Compton is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds in south Warwickshire close to the borders of both Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The village is located approximately half way between Oxford and Stratford upon Avon and is within easy reach of both. The church dates back to the 13th century, and the lychgate to the 17th century. For golfers, there are two excellent courses close by, and for horse riders, guests will find an excellent riding school. Bikes are available to hire from Morton-in-Marsh.
