Lovingly renovated, Barbican Cottage offers guests beautiful accommodation, contemporary fixtures and fittings, quality facilities and still maintains the charm and character of the building. On the ground floor guests will find an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Perfect for horse lovers, Middleham is renowned for its long history and also serves as a thriving racehorse community. Guests will be able to watch as top class racehorses are ridden daily through the village and up to the gallops in the fields at the edge of the village. Middleham Castle lies just behind Barbican Cottage and was once the home of Richard III and was referred to in former times as the “Windsor of the North”. Another popular attraction is the Wensleydale Railway which stops in Leyburn and travels through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Yorkshire Dales.
