About this property

This delightful mid 19th century end-terrace cottage is situated in the charming town of St Boswells in the Scottish Borders. This beautifully styled cottage which accommodates up to three people is a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the village. The entrance leads into a spacious sitting room centred on a lovely open fireplace and the entrance to the kitchen is at the rear of the sitting room up one step. Looking out over the rear patio area, the kitchen has a charming cottage feel and a dining area which will seat four. Upstairs is a comfy king-size double bedroom which can be a 2'6" twin room on request. There is also a single bedroom as well as a comfortable bathroom. The rear patio is up four steps and has a couple of seating areas where you can sit and relax with a refreshing drink after a busy day exploring the area. There is the added advantage of a lockable shed, which is ideal for storing bikes or fishing gear. A short stroll brings you into the centre of St Boswells, an attractive town with the River Tweed flowing past it and with lovely walks along its banks. This is an ideal location from which to explore the historic Scottish Borders, from its dramatic Reivers past to its status today as an excellent area for walking, cycling, fishing and touring castles, historic Abbeys and viewing wildlife. You can also catch the train to Edinburgh from Tweedbank station which is a 15 minute drive away. A lovely comfortable cottage offering an attractive break whatever the time of year.

St Boswells sits on the south of the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders. There is much evidence of Roman occupation, dating from almost two thousand years ago. Today, St Boswells is known for being on the route of St Cuthbert’s Way, the long distance path from Melrose Abbey to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. The village boasts a hotel, café, several shops, post office, butcher and a garage. As well as spectacular salmon and brown trout fishing on the River Tweed, the local riverside walks take in attractive scenery.
