About this property

10 Castle Street is a superb stylish dog-friendly destination situated on the edge of Cranborne Chase in the heart of Dorset. Super pet-friendly and relaxed, this beautiful Grade II listed country house hotel is surrounded by glorious formal enclosed gardens, ancient woodland and an Alpaca field. Perfect for couples or families, 10 Castle Street offers an endless array of activities such as cycling, fishing, horse riding, shooting and sailing, and the snooker table provides hours of fun on rainy days. The local area was once a favourite of medieval kings as a hunting ground and also has links to Thomas Hardy’s classic novel – Tess of the D’Urbervilles. The grand, symmetrical exterior is typical of the Palladian style architecture, which became popular in the UK for a brief time in the mid-17th century. Boasting an extravagant history dating back to the eighteenth century, today the hotel is owned by the Cranborne Estate. A fantastic example of a traditional country mansion steeped in history, this luxe members club exudes both character and charm and features fabulous artwork displayed on the walls by local artists. With individually designed bedrooms, fantastic food and wonderful hospitality, the hotel provide the ideal location for a weekend away with your four-legged friend.

Dine with Your Dog

10 Castle Street believes that a restaurant should offer a lot more than a place to eat. This belief is shared by Head Chef Danny Larose, who is incredibly produce driven when it comes to sourcing food from local amenities. His ethos is very much “field to plate” and everything is freshly made - from baked bread to delicious ice cream. The main dining room and private dining room are for human guests only, however, furry friends are welcome everywhere else as long as they are accompanied. Canine companions are very welcome in the large drawing room which is a great spot to relax by the fire in winter and is nice and cool in the Summer. The south-facing terrace is perfect for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner on finer days, and doggies are welcome to join their owners in the sunshine.

Bow wow factor

With luxury dog beds and treats on arrival, your pooch will feel like a VIP (Very Important Pet)! Your pooch will love the beautiful grounds, perfect for stretching doggie legs!
