With a charming country house vibe and quirky decor it is ideally placed for exploring Royal Deeside - the perfect doggie playground with walks on the unused railway line and up Scolty Hill a short distance away. Your dog can also join you in the bar for a drink or meals with doggie treats provided. The hotel also makes a great choice for those who like to fish as the River Dee is one of the world’s greatest salmon rivers. Grouse shooting and golf are also available.

All the bedrooms at the Banchory Lodge are dog-friendly. The rooms are charmingly decorated and in the ground floor rooms, you can open the french doors and head outside with your dog onto the terrace and straight out to the River Dee. Refurbished with modern Scottish interiors the rooms are super comfortable. There are toiletries by Gordon Castle and each room is individually decorated with illustrations by designer Bryce Thomson.

You can dine with your dog in the super dog-friendly bar where they serve locally sourced seasonal food in a relaxed setting. The hotel supports local Scottish farmers and suppliers and Scottish favorites include Shetland mussels, haggis, and delicious steaks. In winter you and your dog can cosy up to the log burning fires and in summer they fling open the doors to the terrace to enjoy the sunshine and the sound of the river rushing by.

Location & Local Attractions
This really is the most idyllic spot for a dog-friendly getaway. Royal Deeside is a doggie delight with walks on the unused railway line along the Deeside Way. Also if you climb up Scolty hill you will be rewarded with wonderful views of Deeside or you can climb one of the higher peaks accessed from Cairn O'Mount road such as Clachnaben. Also, a visit to Crathes Castles and Balmoral Castle, and the Cairngorms National Park is a must.
