Overview
Dating back to the 17th century, dog-friendly Alexander House & Utopia Spa in West Sussex lies in the most picturesque, pooch-friendly setting you could imagine. The property has a fascinating history that traces back to when a Roman road ran past the western boundary. One stone from the boundary dates back to 1608 - a piece of history that now stands proudly in the luxurious 1608 Champagne Bar. The original house, famed for its grandeur, held connections to luminary poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and was later purchased in 1909 by the former Governor of the Bank of England. Fast forward to 1984 when the mansion was meticulously refurbished, restored, and renamed Alexander House. Renovated in 2006, the property was transformed into the elegant, luxurious hotel it is today. With 120 acres of grounds for you and your dog to explore and the Sussex countryside on the doorstep, Alexander House makes the perfect destination for a relaxing break with your pooch. There is a choice of two restaurants - AG’s offers a spectacular tasting experience Thursday to Saturday whilst the more informal Reflections is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner all week.
