About this property

Inverness 10 miles. A most comfortable and homely detached cottage, occupying a stunning hillside location in the heart of the fabulous Scottish Highlands in the hamlet of Strathnairn, the valley of the River Nairn. Very well appointed throughout, this Highland cottage has widespread views from every window and is ideal for a family group or group of friends who want to enjoy the lovely scenery, tranquillity and wildlife that the area has in abundance. This Highland cottage is close to the owner's home on a working livestock farm, but is accessed via a farm track, ensuring total privacy. There are three bedrooms in this Highland cottage, including a ground floor double with an en-suite shower room. The fitted kitchen is very well equipped, and the sitting room is perfect for relaxation with a welcoming electric stove to gather around at the end of an active day. The small garden surrounding this Highland cottage is a great place for some quiet reflection, reading or bird watching. Loch Bunachton, a 20 minute walk away is home to a 55 acre natural loch, holding pike, perch, Artic char and wild brown trout. The scenery is fantastic and the area is home to a variety of wildlife, including ospreys. This Highland cottage affords visitors the peace and tranquillity of being in the country, yet is only 20 minutes away (10 miles) from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park is 30 miles to the south. Also take the B851 scenic route on the south side of Loch Ness to Fort Augustus, and Culloden Visitor Centre is about 10 miles to the east. Whatever activity you choose to do or wherever you roam, this Highland cottage will be your perfect holiday home!
