Poldark Country, the backdrop for Winston Graham's novels set in Perranporth in the 1930s, includes the picturesque Cornish seaside town of Perranporth. A bucket-and-spade beach with lifeguards is available in summer in Perranporth, which is surrounded by rocky outcroppings and a lovely coastal promenade. The hamlet, once recognised for producing the best tin, still has abandoned pump houses, mine shafts, and workers' cottages as remnants of its rich history. Perranzabuloe Folk Museum and Blue Hills Museum are two excellent stops to make if you're interested in learning more about the history of this part of the coast. Nearby are Crantock and Holywell Bay, which both have long stretches of sandy beach, as well as the stunning coastal paths around St Agnes, all of which is held by the National Trust. The ideal location for a family vacation in Cornwall, with a wide variety of activities to choose from.
