Both Bala, with its lake and numerous watersports, and Betws-y-Coed, where you can enjoy those peaceful waterfall walks are less than twenty minutes away by car, opening up the Snowdonia National Park and mountain range. Why not drive to Llanberis; a perfect start to the ascent of Snowdon or take the Snowdon mountain railway to the summit for something a little less strenuous.
