Please note: A public footpath passes through the garden. . This delightful cottage, one of a pair, has many original features and lies in the hills between Harlech and Porthmadog. There are walks from the door into the hills, and it is only a short drive across the estuary to the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis, or you can ride the little steam trains of the Ffestiniog Railway. Nearby is the former slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, now a mecca for adrenaline junkies with Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets in an underground slate cavern, and Zipworld Titan – the largest zip wire zone in the world. The Edward I castle (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) broods dramatically over the town of Harlech, which also has a superb sandy beach. Visit the Cambrian Coast down to Barmouth and beyond, whilst in the other direction the Lleyn Peninsula beckons with the seaside towns of Criccieth and Abersoch.
