The famous Fitzwilliam Museum is also well worth a visit and there are, of course, numerous places to shop, eat and drink. Close by lies the Cambridgeshire Fens with Welney Wetlands, a must for wildlife lovers, and the small city of Ely, where its magnificent cathedral has been dubbed ’the ship of the fens’ because of the way it rises up on the horizon as you approach. The Imperial War Museum Duxford is also close by and makes for a great day out. In fact, when it comes to things to do, you really will be spoilt for choice and you will most certainly be tempted to book a return to Cavendish just to fit it all in.
