Glad we booked
My wife and I stayed two nights at Danesfield for her birthday. It's a beautiful hotel in extensive grounds. The hotel is majestic with some signature rooms - especially the lounge with its majestic ceiling and tall windows - and a great situation looking over lawns to the river beyond. The grounds are a treat as they are dotted with secluded seating where you can relax. There are also woodland walks. The staff are very friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were put in a room with the bath in the bedroom. Neither my wife or I were keen on this and requested a change. We were moved to a lovely room with great views; the move including an upgrade. We had a delightful evening meal and two great breakfasts during our stay, one outside on the terrace in lovely sunshine. Altogether the treat we were hoping for.

The bar and restaurant staff were all amazing, and so incredibly attentive. We loved all of the food and drinks as well (although a little on the pricey side).
Our room and the views from our room were great.
My issue is with the check out. The offer for this booking was a complimentary check out time of 1pm. This is even confirmed in the booking. When checking in, the guy didnt mention check in/check out times, only gave us our room no. and told us where the spa, restaurant and bar were. On the day of check out at 11:15am, we were chilling in our room when the same guy from check in knocked on our door and told us check out was 11am. I explained the check out offer time we had, and he went to check and came back 10 or so minutes later. He didnt honour the 1pm time, but instead they could give us the room till 12pm. Anytime after would be an additional charge. We came down before midday and despite me showing the email confirmation of the offer and time, they didnt really seem apologetic and said we should have confirmed. But why was it not confirmed to us when we checked in? The offer did not say subject to availability . I didnt like how they made us feel
