Two dogs welcome
Elegant and inviting dog-friendly Empress Cottage is set within the Combermere Abbey Estate, one of Cheshire’s most historic gems, on the border of Shropshire and Cheshire. Surrounded by 1000 acres of stunning ancient parkland and woods, there is much to explore with your furry friend! With 900 years of history, the characterful buildings and landscape both inspire and captivate guests. This romantic two-bedroom cottage was named for and inspired by Elizabeth the Empress of Austria. A keen horsewoman, she rented Combermere for three years to hunt with the Wynnstay Hunt at the end of the 19th century and had to be sewn into her riding habit daily. The cottage was created from three loose-boxes and a stable, and some of the original dividers have been reused in the sitting room. Ideal for a small family, the cottage features traditional decor, gorgeous furnishings and a cosy wood-burning stove for Fido to snooze beside. The Pleasure Gardens make a lovely uplifting space to wander through, and the trail through the Garden Wood leads to gorgeous countryside views. With so many beautiful walks from your doorstep, Empress Cottage will be a favourite with your canine companion.
