The Old Riverport of St Ives nestles on the banks of the Great Ouse river and is around 15 miles from Cambridge. Known world over for the Chapel on its 15C bridge the town has over 150 listed buildings and St Ives was also once the home of Oliver Cromwell. There are fabulous river walks on River Great Ouse which are easy to walk and if you are up for a challenge you can take the five-mile St Ives and The Hemingsford walk which takes you through the delightful Ouse valley along with the charming villages of the Hemingfords. Visit the Parish church, Holt Island Nature Reserve, and Hemingford Grey Church along the way. You will walk along a flat terrain through leafy narrow lanes and across lovely meadows with lots of dog-friendly cafes and pubs along the way.
