Explore the heritage coastline with coastal walks starting in the village or visit Alnwick with its majestic castle and one of the biggest water gardens in Europe, 7 miles away. Amble harbour and marina are 5 miles, whilst Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and Seahouses are around a 30-minute drive away. Boat trips to the Farne Islands leave from Seahouses to see the puffins and seals, or you can take a trip to Holy Island when the tide is out by driving over the causeway. Beach and golf course 2 minutes’ walk. There is on road parking, and you can sometimes manage to park opposite the cottage where there is space for three cars. Delicatessen, post office, shop and pubs, cafés and restaurants 25 yards.
