Dog-friendly Hartwell House in Buckinghamshire, located in the Vale of Aylesbury and just 40 miles North of West London, is one of the county’s most celebrated country houses. Set in a tranquil setting of over 90 acres of English countryside, and on the edge of the Chilterns, (designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Hartwell House is only two miles from the busy market town of Aylesbury and 20 miles from Oxford. Built in the early 17th century for the Hampden family, the house has both Jacobean and Georgian features with outstanding decorative plasterwork and panelling. The hotel, which has 16 bedrooms in the Hartwell Court (the renovated 18th-century riding stables) and 32 in the Main House, has won many awards for the quality and excellence of its outstanding hospitality and food. Dogs are welcome in the Suites at the Hartwell Court, and you can take either two small dogs or one larger dog with you on your country trip. Pets are treated to the same standard of luxury as their owners; pampered pooches will love exploring the 90 acres of parkland the hotel has to offer and relaxing after a country walk in the beautifully appointed pet-friendly suites.
