Belvoir Castle, Grimsthorpe Castle, Melton Museum and Millgate Museum are all close by and worth visiting, as is Barnsdale Gardens, home to Jeff Hamilton's 38 inspiring gardens. The city of Lincoln is just over 20 miles away, with an incredible 11th century Gothic cathedral and castle fortress, as well as Steep Hill, a popular street with tourists, filled with independent shops, tea rooms and pubs and with access to the cathedral at the top. There's so much to see and do nearby, and Hedgefield House is a wonderful family base to return to each evening.
