About this property

Holloway House is situated in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds Market village of Wotton-Under-Edge. This impressive Grade II listed 17th century period property has been completely refurbished and provides spacious accommodation. The Cotswold Way Trail passes through the town, along the main high street, which are packed with family run shops, cafes and pubs selling an amazing range of goods. The property is the perfect base for walking, exploring, or a friends and family get together. The impressive accommodation with lovely period features, consists briefly of an entrance hall with staircase to the main body of the accommodation on the first and second floor level and starts with an attractive galleried landing, having a stained glass arched sash window to the rear. This leads to a delightful large, panelled living room with two sash windows to the front and a feature fireplace. There are two good-sized double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, and a luxury family bathroom. Also accessed from the landing and to the rear of the house is a shower room, and a light and spacious kitchen/dining room, perfect for entertaining. The study has a second staircase up to an open plan sitting room which in turn leads into the good-sized double bedroom, which features exposed beams in its vaulted ceiling. The house has a very secluded spacious and' hidden' south facing garden to the rear which is laid mainly to lawn. Rear access is provided by a large remotely controlled gate. Leading from the garden to the back of the house is a pretty courtyard with Hot tub and utility/laundry room. This area of the South Cotswolds has easy access to the M4 and M5. Wotton-under-Edge is a friendly, thriving, and lively place, with interesting and historic buildings. The town still embodies many of the features and charm of small-town life, which have disappeared in bigger places - its quirky shops are a prime example! The reputedly haunted Ram Inn is well worth a visit as is the highly rated Falcon Steakhouse. The Cotswold Way is only a metre from the house, and there are many outstanding walks on the doorstep within this AONB. Within a 20-mile radius you can visit stunning, architectural Georgian Bath with Thermae Spa and Bath Abbey. Bristol with the SS Great Britain, We the Curious, Bristol suspension bridge, or travel to Gloucester and visit the Cathedral or The Quays for shopping. The TV series, Bridgerton was filmed in Bath and Bristol, and some filming was carried out in the more local village of Badminton. For fans of Poldark, you can visit Chavenage House and Horton Court. Within 10 miles, is the historic town of Tetbury or visit the farmers market in Stroud. Holloway House is well placed for a holiday touring this beautiful area either by car, bike, or foot.
