About this property

A first class, stone built, detached cottage in a most enviable location on the edge of the Dales village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale with fabulous views of Pen-y-Ghent. Located on the Pennine Way footpath this outstanding holiday home provides a great opportunity for family and friends to get away from it all and enjoy having one of the famous Three Peaks on the doorstep. Smart and stylish throughout, the owners have gone to great lengths to provide guests with a memorable holiday home. Featuring a spacious sitting room with a cosy woodburning stove, a stylish wooden floor, lovely views of the surrounding countryside and modern features such as the 40” Smart TV. Next to the sitting room there is a delightful summer room with a dining and seating area, Velux windows and patio doors overlooking open countryside. The dining room also provides a small seating area to sit, relax and enjoy an evening tipple. The second floor consists of a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed and modern en-suite facilities. The second double has a luxurious super king-size bed (zip/link, can be a twin on request) and the third bedroom is a useful single room. The main bathroom, smart and stylish, consists of a shower cubicle and a separate warming bath, ideal after a day out on the fells. Outside there is a mature front garden area, ideal to sit out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding countryside. The lane running past the front of the house leads onto the main footpath to Pen-y-Ghent and for those relishing a challenge there is the famous Three Peaks Challenge, not for the faint hearted. For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the famous Viaduct on the Settle-Carlisle railway recently used as the setting for the BBC series Jericho. The market towns of Settle and Skipton are close at hand and Kirkby Lonsdale and Hawes are well worth a visit and then finish the day with a short stroll to the heart of the village - the local pub. This is a stunning property in a fantastic, picturesque setting with something to suit everyone.
