Nestled on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you’ll have easy access to some of Gloucestershire's best sights. There are dozens of fairytale towns to sniff out, including the quintessential-Cotswold village of Bibury - one of the prettiest in the UK. Not to be outdone, the picture-perfect Stow-on-the-Wold is another must-see, home to bespoke shops, historic boltholes (the dog-friendly Porch House is believed to be one of Britain’s oldest inns), and St Edward’s Church, whose gorgeous yew tree-flanked doorway helped to inspire Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings! Easily accessible by car, the stunning Blenheim Palace is well-within reach, offering vibrant grounds and gardens for dogs to explore, or for a family day out, hop over to Cotswold Wildlife Park, which welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads. To escape the hustle and bustle, seek out the Cotswold Way, a 100-mile walking route guiding you around historic sights and sleepy villages.
