About this property

Holloway 1.8 miles. A lovely, stone-built, semi-detached cottage, on a quiet road 1.8 miles from the village of Holloway and near to the villages of Whatstandwell and Crich. This splendid property is ideal for a small family or a group of four friends who are looking for a memorable holiday spent exploring the stunning countryside surrounding the Peak District National Park. The cottage has been fully-renovated with a designer kitchen, modern bathroom and contemporary furnishings, yet retains lots of lovely period features, such as exposed beams and a feature fireplace with a warming woodburning stove. The two bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin, are light and comfortable, whilst the open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area is a lovely place for friends and family to spend quality time together. Outside, there is a gravelled courtyard with a table for alfresco dining, as well as a secure outbuilding for storing bikes. There’s plenty to do from the doorstep, such as a visit to the quaint market village of Crich, with its traditional pubs and Tramway Village, not to mention a trip to Cromford, home to the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Just a little further afield there’s Matlock, with a range of shops, pubs, restaurants and fun family attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car that takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family with its show-caves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst to the north is the market town of Bakewell, as well as Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall. Carsington Water is also close by and offers fantastic watersports, not to be missed by outdoor enthusiasts. With all this and more just waiting to be explored, this charming property is a perfect base all year round.
