Grounds with firepit and sitting-out area. Indoor heated pool (15m x 5m, 2m depth in deep end), with shower room, steam room and changing facilities (shared with other properties on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. No children. . This Shepherd’s Hut with stunning views and shared indoor pool has direct access to Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty South Coast paths, pubs and shops. The living area has stable doors from which to enjoy the uninterupted valley views, and the dining furniture can be used inside or out. The bedroom area with wardrobe and storage, has a double bed made up with quality linens, and can be stored vertically for extra space. The garden is enclosed and partly sheltered and has a fire pit and undercover area with fairy lights, worktop, sink, BBQ (including starter coals) and loungers to soak up the great views. This is an area with low light pollution and the Protected Sky Status for star gazing! Visitors have direct access to 2 acre dog walking paddocks and further Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Isle of Wight paths. There is a shared indoor heated swimming pool and private use can be arranged with the owner prior to arrival.
You are welcome to join the owners for a walk or cycle to the nearby St Catherine’s Oratory or ‘Pepperpot’, as its known locally, or into the close by villages of Whitell and Niton, with many options to venture further afield.
Outdoor pursuits are well catered for including horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, watersports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages. Pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, the famous Needles, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. There is plenty to discover and keep you entertained. There are local takeaway options if you fancy dining al fresco and making the most of the wide valley sunset glow The owner has thoughtfully provided bathrobes for your comfort. Beach 2 miles. Shop, award winning pubs and restaurant ¾ mile.
The Shepherd’s Hut can be booked together with the Farm Cottage (ref UK11246) to accommodate up to 6 guests.
One friendly, adult dog (over 12 months) is welcome (£20 per stay) but must NOT to be left alone in the Hut, unless agreed with Owner for the time you take a private swim in the indoor pool only. Please consider how to care for dog when the weather may be too hot to take out with you? Pets must be kept on a lead until in stock fenced paddocks and children must be supervised at all times. The 5-acre grounds are shared with other detached properties on-site around a central courtyard and the owner in Kingates Farmhouse set back behind the cottages. Wheelchair access is not easy due to a gravel courtyard. The pool is shared with other properties on-site and is available by booking preferred times with the owner prior to arrival.
