About this property

One of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the dog-friendly Kenmore Hotel is nestled in the middle of mountainous highland Perthshire. Originally built as a tavern, in 1572 Laird Colin Campbell converted Kenmore into a hotel. Set in the quaint picturesque village of Kenmore, which lies to the East of Loch Tay with the River Tay to the North, surrounding the hotel with wonderful views. The stunning countryside has fabulous walks on the doorstep, to keep you and your dog busy. Or stay in the hotel in one of Kenmore's charming dog-friendly rooms or luxury lodges, situated in a position of natural beauty with plenty of space for your dog to roam and food delivered to your lodge by local delicatessen Romaine Calm.

Dine with Your Dog

If you are staying in the hotel you can dine with your dog in the hotel's lounge or the Boar’s Head Bar. You can sit by a roaring log fire and sample a malt whisky or two and choose from the menu of locally sourced produce. Blankets, treats, and dog bowls are available to keep your dog happy. Or if you wanted to leave your dog in your room you could dine in the restaurant which has the most fabulous views. While staying at one of the dog-friendly lodges you can also dine at the hotel, self-cater, or have your food delivered to your door by nearby delicatessen Romaine Calm.

Bow wow factor

Dog-Friendly Nearby

The hotel and lodges offer fabulous doggie walks through forests, along lochs, and up mountains. Take a walk with your dog to Aberfeldy which is a six to seven-mile walk either along the river or through the mountains. And if you are too tired at the end of the walk you can always take a bus back (this service does not operate every day). Another lovely walk is to Taymouth Castle, an impressive neo-Gothic building, which has a golf course and a lovely circular walk around the grounds. Or you could walk up along the forest path to the Viewpoint overlooking the River Tay or explore the pretty village of Kenmore including the Croft Moraig Stone Circle. Or if you are feeling more adventurous you could take a loch cruise across the Tay. There is also a plethora of shorter doggie walks along the shoreline and other villages and castles to visit nearby.
