About this property

Launceston 7 miles. Perfectly located for touring both Cornwall and Devon situated close to the border this charming period farmhouse which has been completely renovated and refurbished, is set in 18 acres on a working farm at the end of a no through road in the tranquil hamlet of West Curry just off the road linking Launceston and Bude. Ideal for both families and couples a stay at this lovely old farmhouse really does offer something for everyone. Children will delight in the farm animals and the owners, who live close by, encourage families to participate in the feeding as well as handling of a variety of animals with piglets and new born lambs depending on the time of year. After taking the quiet road to the hamlet you enter the Farmhouse which is full of character with slate floors, clome ovens, exposed beams and a log burner adding to the atmosphere and perfect for the cooler evenings. Immediately on your right as you enter is the utility room which has a large granite salter suitable for rinsing off wetsuits and sandy dogs. Adjoining this most useful room is a bathroom complete with an electric shaver point and a large shower, ideal for the children after a day on the beach. A well equipped kitchen, a traditional dining room and a homely sitting room with large cosy sofa and log burner complete the ground floor accommodation. There are four individual double bedrooms which along with the family bathroom are located on the first floor. At the rear of the farmhouse accessed through the dining room, and the sitting room is a delightful covered terrace and garden with furniture to relax and enjoy the stunning far reaching views across Bodmin Moor. Local Farm Shop and The Stumble Inn is 1 mile away. 3 miles to the North in Whitstone Village has a shop and a post office. Although set in such rural surroundings a short drive will take you to the year round dog friendly Black Rock beach at the southern end of Widemouth Bay which itself is a Blue Flag beach, is long and sandy, popular with both families and surfers, with its own Surf School. Widemouth itself also has a selection of shops, pubs and an Italian restaurant, perfect to visit after a day at the beach. Further along the coast from here is the award winning resort of Bude with superb facilities and wonderful beaches. For those sporting enthusiasts there are many golf courses in the area including Trethorne, Launceston, Bude, St Mellion, and a seven course complex at The Ashbury Okehampton. Keen field sport enthusiasts are welcome to bring their dogs and shooting can be arranged through the owners if required during shooting season, outdoor secure kennels are also available if requested. There are also a number of historic sites which are worth a visit such as the National Trust property Cotehele House, or the Victorian/Edwardian copper mine and port, Morwellham Quay. A really comfortable farmhouse offering great holidays and memories which is available all year round.
