Dog-friendly Oakley Hall is a luxury, historic hotel that has recently undergone an extensive renovation. Set in 315 acres of magnificent gardens and woodland for your dog to explore it has lovely Courtyard Rooms and Suites, a dog-welcoming ethos and an award winning restaurant, the Glasshouse Restaurant.
Just an hour's drive from London, dog-friendly Oakley Hall Hotel is a privately owned country house hotel set within 315 acres of gorgeous Hampshire countryside, just a 10 minute drive from Basingstoke. Originally built in 1795, the property was once owned by the Bramston family, who were close friends with the well-known author Jane Austen. Austen frequently mentioned visiting the property in letters addressed to her sisters. The property was also the previous home of a boarding school, Hillsea College. In 2014, the current owners under-took a multi-million pound restoration project, renovating 47 bedrooms and suites, a three bedroom Garden Cottage, and the award winning Glasshouse Restaurant.
The hotel is super dog-welcoming with treats on reception, a welcome pack in their room and water bowls dotted around the property. As well as lovely woodland walks around the hotel you could also visit nearby Basing House and Beacon Hill.

Dine with Your Dog
Dogs are welcome to dine with you in the dog-designated area of the Glasshouse restaurant or the 1795 Bar and Lounge. Their restaurant Menu highlights seasonal ingredients from local suppliers which features a range of delicious dishes, There is also a Sunday Roast menu that has a choice of meat roasts and vegan options.

Nice country hotel
Good quality nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay and meals
High price
For the cost we expected to be in the main hotel, not in an outside stable block, albeit a nice room. Our deal included a meal but this only covered us for 2 courses. Overall we had hoped for more out of the experience but probably as much our fault as we have stayed in better hotels for similar prices. The staff however were very welcoming and tried very hard.

We do advise on the 'rooms' tab that the Deluxe rooms are located in both the main house and the 19th century courtyard.

We recommend their Woodland Walk that takes you around the whole estate and features beautiful views of the surrounding countryside!
