Overview
The island’s most famous hotel and once the official residence of the Governor, the dog-friendly Old Government House Hotel & Spa in Guernsey is the first and only five-star hotel in the area. Barely five minute's walk from St Peter Port's picturesque quayside, it is arranged around a serene private garden that affords wonderful panoramic sea views. The hotel also features a comprehensively equipped health club, superb spa and heated outdoor pool. The beautiful rooms are perfect for those looking for a relaxing getaway, and the choice of food within the hotel itself is outstanding, without even mentioning the rest of what Guernsey has to offer.
Getting to Guernsey is simple. You can fly from Southampton with Aurigny. You can only take one pet and your dog travels in a cage in the hold. Or, alternatively, you can travel by Condor Ferries as a foot passenger with your dog or in the car. The journey takes 3 hours and if you travel by car you must leave the dog in the car or if you are a foot passenger you must use a RSPC carrier.
