About this property
Austwick 1 mile. This stone-built wing of a large Dales farmhouse is located on the owner's working farm in beautiful rolling countryside, just one mile from Austwick, one of the most popular villages in the National Park. In a wonderful location, this first-class holiday cottage offers fabulous views of the surrounding area and is ideal for a large family, group of friends or two couples to get away from it all and enjoy this scenic area. Renovated to a high standard, the property features a magnificent open plan living area which has underfloor heating provided by a biomass heating system. This spacious room also has a wonderful central feature woodburning stove set in a stone-built surround. The L-shaped modern kitchen is well-equipped and there is a spacious dining area to one side providing a great place to eat a delicious meal, reminisce and make plans for the next day. The remainder of the living area is made up of a fantastic sitting area with a wall-mounted TV and an external door which leads to the garden. Upstairs the main bedroom has a modern and luxurious en-suite shower room and is a lovely place to wake up and enjoy the great views out across the meadows towards Three Peaks country. The other bedrooms offer flexible accommodation with one containing a twin bed which can be turned into a super king-size double on request and the other with a single bed and a useful guest bed. Both of these bedrooms are well-served by a modern bathroom with a bath, separate shower, basin and WC. This is excellent walking country, with plenty of routes from the doorstep and for the more energetic who love a challenge, the Three Peaks is one not to be missed, taking the average fit walker nearly twelve hours to complete, or they can be enjoyed at your leisure, maybe by doing one a day. Enjoy scenic drives and cycling along quiet lanes with the rides out towards the Trough of Bowland being particularly special. Just a mile from the pretty Dales village of Austwick, this is a great place to visit with a village green, excellent local pub, and The Traddock, an award-winning hotel and restaurant. The market towns of Settle and Kirkby Lonsdale are nearby and Malham Cove is not far away. Take a trip on the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. A lovely holiday home in a stunning location.
