The whole region is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites. There is plenty to see and do, from walking and cycling to golfing and windsurfing. Dunoon is the nearest town to Colintraive, which boasts the maritime gateway to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and a fabulous Victorian pier to promenade along. There are many cafes restaurants and shops to browse, along with the leisure centre and swimming pool, however, the grounds of Ormidale contain its own pool, hot tub and sauna, so you won't be short of activities right on the doorstep.
