Perfect for a pet-friendly getaway with family, friends and best furry friend, of course, are these lovely traditional log cabins in the grounds of the gorgeous Portsonachan Hotel - an amazing 19c hotel with a lovely remote position on the Southside shores of Loch Awe. Your dog will have a wonderful playground of over 100 acres of natural woodland around the loch in beautiful rural surroundings. Stay in one of nine traditional wooden lodges which can accommodate up to six guests. All the lodges are dotted around the gorgeous grounds of this stunning location with fabulous views. Some of the lodges offer a built-in sauna! You can dine with your dog in the dog-friendly areas in the hotel with traditional Scottish fare and stunning views all around. As well as the fabulous walks there are running and cycle routes, and you can even take your four-legged friend on a 27-mile boat trip around the loch. You can also try your hand at fishing from the loch as well as a spot of birdwatching in this gorgeous natural habitat.

You can dine in your wonderful self-catering log cabin. Or if you feel like a change, why not try The Cruachan restaurant in the hotel where you can dine with your dog in the bar, conservatory or lounge where you can enjoy traditional Scottish dishes. The restaurant also has a lovely terrace and is open for Breakfast, lunch/snacks and dinner. There is also a take out service if you would rather eat in your log cabin and you can also dine al fresco with your pet on your private terrace taking in the fabulous views. Dog bowls are provided.

Location & Local Attractions
Portsonachan has a mile of Loch frontage and over 100 natural woodlands for your dog to roam. You and best furry friends can enjoy magical walks off the lead around the Estate but must be kept on the lead near the hotel. There is a great walk close to the hotel up to the natural waterfalls, a small beach and dogs can also swim in the loch if you fancy a boat trip around the 27-mile loch your dog can come along too with great stop-off points for runs and walks. There are also running and cycle routes, fishing on the loch and birdwatching. The town of Inverary is only 15 minutes away, and Argyll Gardens is a short drive away. For a slightly longer drive, you can visit Oban, which is a 30-mile drive, although with so many dog-friendly features close by you may be tempted to stay put!
