About this property
Built on an elevated position, this holiday property offers spectacular views over the meandering River Lot, the craggy cliff faces and the high, wooded plateaux. Set in oak woodland, the location is tranquil and serene with no neighbours, yet it is within easy driving distance of Cajarc (8km), Villefranche-de-Rouergue (20km) and Figeac (25km), all of which are traditional Medieval market towns with weekly markets that are still flourishing. The ’most beautiful village of France’ awarded village of Capdenac-le-Haut is 22km away and for days out, visit Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, 28km, the Grottes de Peche Merle 40km, and the Grottes de Foissac 12km, as well as Rocamadour, the Gouffre de Padirac and the city of Cahors a bit further afield. Canoeing and watersports are possible on both the Lot and Célé rivers and there are several horse riding centres nearby. The hiking opportunities are endless. The region is well supplied with excellent restaurants and as it falls between the wine regions of Cahors, Marcillac and Gaillac, there is a large selection of wines to be sampled and compared. Shop 4km, restaurant 10km.
