A short stroll from the centre, it is ideal for exploring the Moors and the Heritage coastline, as well as the city of York. Nearby are Kirkby Moorside, Helmsley, and Pickering where you can board a steam train and take a journey through countryside. Visit Dalby Forest for cycling, with tracks to suit all ages. Scarborough, 20 miles, has beaches. Whitby is 18 miles. The cottage is in the most perfect location as there is so much within walking distance. Within a 5-minute walk and within the beautiful village there is a variety of local shops, tea rooms, ice cream and cake shops, pubs serving food, as well as a fish and chips and pizza takeaway. In addition there are beautiful walks to be taken from the door, an attractive duck pond and the stream down the road from the cottage, and for younger guests a play park within a few minutes’ walk.
