Steeped in history, dating back to Tudor times, the hotel is luxurious and makes a wonderful restful stay for you and four legged friends with a fabulous spa, pool and country pursuits at hand.

Stapleford Park Country House Hotel is a fabulous dog-friendly Country Estate located close to Melton Mowbray in the heart of the Leicestershire Countryside. Surrounded by 500 acres of stunning parkland with walks around the lake, the hotel provides the perfect playground for a dog-friendly escape. The epitome of luxury, this Grade I country mansion is steeped in history, some of the architecture dating back to the 14th century. The large reception areas have plenty of original features, with large paintings and antiques, rich decor and quirky charm.

All the lavish bedrooms in traditional country house style are dog-friendly and feature interesting wallcoverings and murals. Dogs are allowed in a bar and drawing room but not in the restaurant. You can enjoy a range of country pursuits on the Estate including archery, falconry and shooting as well as bike hire, pitch and putt and croquet. There is also a spa housed in the baroque revival stable block which offers an array of treatments, pool and sauna - perfect for relaxing after a busy day of dog walks.

Dine with Your Dog

You can dine with your dog in the drawing room or if you would rather leave your dog in the room you can dine in the main restaurant. All dogs must be kept in a crate if left alone in the room or sometimes the hotel are able to look after your dog at reception whilst you dine. Enjoy traditional afternoon tea in the Drawing Room which features squashy sofas and glistening chandeliers and enjoy dinner in the 2AA rosette Grinling Gibbons restaurant which serves culinary delights from home grown produce foraged from the country estate and artisan products from local suppliers.

Furry friends do not need to leave the Estate as there are 10 acres of dog walks across 500 acres of parkland. You could also visit Rutland Water - the Peninsula Dog Walk is on the edge of Hambleton Peninsula and is surrounded on all sides by Rutland Water or take a walk to Ferneley’s Dairy Barn Café which serves delicious lunches, afternoon tea and doggie ice cream.
