The Farmhouse at Polehanger is entirely unique. ‘It does what it says on the tin’ and packs a serious punch as a large six bedroom, luxury farmhouse set in immaculate grounds. A vast amount of the original farmhouse character has been preserved but it is now subtly mixed with modern and high-end furniture, fixtures and fittings and some wonderful wallpapers. The owners have created a luxurious finish to enable you to have the best possible stay. As you enter the property you’ll step up into the grand, high ceilinged hallway where you will be immediately struck by the size of The Farmhouse. Immediately to your left you will find the immaculate farmhouse kitchen, this has all the luxuries you’ll need to make your stay awesome! If you fancy cooking up a real feast then don’t forget, there are two kitchens here! The large living room is comfortably furnished and here you will benefit from the huge fireplace and wood burner. A snug has been created at the opposite end where you will again find comfortable seating but also a large Smart TV. There’s a large and ornate formal dining room which features plenty of seating. Through to the adjoining cottage and downstairs you’ll find a second living area which benefits from having additional sofa seating, a Smart TV and a smaller table and chairs. You will also find the kitchen and downstairs bathroom located here.
Onwards and upwards to the luxurious and comfortable bedrooms. Large comfortable beds and fine quality linens will ensure that you have a great night’s sleep. Why not take your morning coffee outside to the wonderful garden and treat yourself to some peace and quiet whilst planning your adventurous day ahead? Being rural and located in the countryside means you’ll get a real view of the night sky, but you’re close enough to the local villages where you’ll find all your amenities, including supermarkets, a pharmacy and a couple of takeaways and restaurants. You will also find some very good pubs within a short drive of The Farmhouse so you won’t be disappointed. The layout is of such that there are four bedrooms, a dining room, kitchen and two living spaces in the Farmhouse, with an adjoining cottage with a kitchen, downstairs bathroom, living room and two bedrooms.
Fancy a day out? Here’s a few options for you: - Bedford and Hitchin, both within 20 minutes drive. Letchworth Garden City, only 25 minutes away by car. Explore the lavish Tudor splendour of Knebworth House, only 32 minutes by car. Woburn Safari Park and Whipsnade Zoo are both reachable in under 40 minutes and if you fancy some wizarding magic then Harry Potter World is approximately 50 minutes’ drive. For family fun, the city of Cambridge is reachable in roughly 45 minutes, ideal as it has so many options, including an Aquapark, a science centre, great shopping, pubs and restaurants, museums, walking tours and punting on the River Cam. Fancy a trip to London? Easy access to Arlesey Station just a few minutes’ drive and then circa 40 minutes to London St Pancras or around 75 minute drive.
Small dogs only, to be kept on lead at all times (working farm). This is a working farm, so there will be farm traffic and works going on in the vicinity of the farmhouse. (There are some listed barns opposite the farmhouse). Gardeners may be on site to work in the garden at some point during your stay. Please contact the owners for any clarificaiton. A security deposit of £150 is required at this property. This will be collected automatically 7 days prior to arrival and refunded (unless a damage claim is received) 7 days after the end of your stay. Please note that your refunded security deposit will take 3-5 days to appear in your account. For your convenience, we’ll take this payment from the last card used to make payment to us. If you would prefer to use a different method of payment, please let us know before the security deposit is due.
