Overview

Settled in the historic Spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, is this three-storey Victorian terraced house, The Wheatley. Enjoying a superb location on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with plenty of scenic hikes and walking trails available right from your front door as well as cycle routes which were part of the Tour de France, The Wheatley is a fantastic choice for couples, friends and families. On the ground floor, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up tasty dishes ready to enjoy at the dining table as you recount the day’s adventures. After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where you can relax on the plush seating in front of the log burner, as your favourite show plays out on the TV, or enjoy evening drinks in the conservatory. Head up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day’s adventures in the well-appointed shower rooms, before choosing to catch your rest in one of four tastefully decorated bedrooms, two king-size, one with zip/link, and a double. The second floor plays host to the final bedroom, a spacious king-size served by a sleek shower room. Explore the town, where you can treat your loved ones to a meal out a Emporio Italia, Brooks Friends of Ham, Martinez Banyan Bar & Kitchen, Host and Box Tree, or the renowned Betty’s Tearoom, where you can enjoy a sweet treat, breakfasts, afternoon tea or a coffee. Take a dip at the Ilkley Swimming Pool and Lido, hike up to Hebers Ghyll where you can explore the moors and beyond, or follow Wheatley Lane up to the beautiful Victorian Craiglands Hotel, and further up the hill, the famous Cow and Calf Rocks, where you can enjoy a bite to eat at the café or pub whilst enjoying the spectacular views. Kings Hall and Ilkley playhouse have fantastic entertainment. Ilkley can be reached by bus or car, where you will find an excellent golf club and tennis club which hosts the prestigious Ilkley Trophy tournament annually in the summer, the picturesque Wharfemeadows Park, the Buon Apps River Lounge & Italian, and Chevin Forest Park. Within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales you’ll find Skipton with it's Food and Drink Festival, Skipton Castle, Skipton Market, and Skipton Castle Woods and Harrogate for a great day out. Adventure awaits at The Wheatley.

    Location

    Directions
The historic spa town of Ilkley serves as the county seat for Wharfedale, the most visited of all the Yorkshire Dales. In this region, you can find some of the most beautiful and untouched landscapes in the country. As a walking route, it is second to none. There is a carefully landscaped Victorian scene up on the moors next to the white-walled cottage of White Wells (where once donkeys carried gout-ridden gentlemen to be doused in the icy-cold moorland spring), with two semi-artificial lakes and the river Wharfe winding through the middle of town. The town of Ilkley has retained its Victorian and Edwardian ambience. The streets are lined with trees and lined with shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Bettys, on The Grove, is unquestionably the best tea shop in Yorkshire and, by extension, the entire world. Beautiful green space, an outdoor pool and an indoor pool, as well as a picnic area are available for the enjoyment of all. The breathtakingly beautiful 84-mile "Dales Way" walk begins here. The area around Bolton Abbey, especially the stretch of river leading up to the 'Strid,' is one of the most beautiful in the region. "On Ilkla Moor Baht at" is essentially the unofficial county song of Yorkshire, and it's all about Ilkley Moor.
