About this property

The traditional, dog-friendly Three Swans in Hungerford is perfectly positioned on the market place and as a coaching inn, it was first mentioned in 1661 as part of an inquisition concerning lands given for the maintenance of a school in Hungerford. A traditional and historic building with Georgian frontage and modern interiors it still maintains the original archway where horse-drawn carriages would enter into the rear courtyard. The Inn’s location close to the midpoint of the Oxford to Salisbury road is indicated by a painted milestone that you can still see at the front of the building today. Situated in the beautiful Kennet Valley, Hungerford is ideally located for exploring the natural rural charms with your best furry friend in tow.

Dine with Your Dog

Your four-legged friend can join you for breakfast in one of the lounges or dine in the Snug bar which serves up traditional British and international dishes. Or alternatively, you can eat al fresco on the terrace where delicious pizzas as served direct from the pizza oven or in the coffee shop.

Bow wow factor

Must be its dog-friendly terrace where doggie biscuits are provided and its proximity to fabulous rural walks!

The riverbank walks on River Dun are spectacular and easy to walk with Hungerford Wharf the suggested starting point.  Follow the river for about 10 minutes and the beautiful St Lawrence Church will show its ancient walls in all their glory. Another walk starts from the delightful village of Ramsbury with the Bell Inn on your left takes you through Littlecoate through wooded valleys and back again to Ramsbury. Hungerford is also near the Vale of Pewsey, the Kennet and Avon Canal. And for the more energetic take a walk up from Pewsey Wharf to Oare Hill on the Marlborough Downs.
