About this property

Once an 18th century coaching inn, the dog-friendly White Hart in Ampthill is situated in the north of this charming Georgian market town. This historic Grade II listed building, which is reputed to date back to the 16th Century, continues to be a prominent destination in Ampthill. Features include a wall mural above the bar’s fireplace of the Prince of Wales feathers, created by local artists in 1646, whilst the stylish 1930s dining room was built towards the end of the arts and crafts era. There is a delicious Mediterranean-inspired menu and dogs are welcome to dine in the bar or the attractive courtyard. There are eight boutique style bedrooms and lovely doggie walks from the door.

Dine with Your Dog

You can dine with your dog in the attractive bar area or the courtyard. The menu in the bar is the same as in the main restaurant. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is served daily from 8am, and guests can choose from a variety of dishes all freshly prepared in the open kitchen. Choose their dry aged ribeye cooked over charcoal in their Josper Oven, or local ale battered cod and chips.

Also visit Ampthill Park - a pleasant place to walk dogs with its varied landscape it is accessible all year round and offers dogs the freedom to get plenty of exercise and meet other dogs and their owners – it also has a lovely cafe. Or walk the Ampthill and Maulden Circular trail - a 8.5 kilometre loop trail located near Ampthill that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
