No stay at Tudor Farmhouse would be complete without a visit to the hotel's fabulous restaurant! From lunchtime bites to celebratory dinners, award-winning head chef Gavin Roberts creates mouthwatering seasonal menus and classic dishes with a modern twist. Plus, all the dishes are made using nothing but high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Pets cannot join you in the main dining area, but they are welcome to join you for meals in the conservatory. Alternatively, dogs are more than welcome to relax in your room whilst you eat. There are also lots of dog-friendly restaurants and pubs nearby. The owners recommend The Miners Arms and The Fountain Inn – both of which are 10 minutes away in the car, and then The Saracens Head Inn which is 20 minutes away.

How to get here

Clearwell sits about 7 miles South-East of Monmouth and 12 miles North of Chepstow.

If you are using a Satnav please set it to “Clearwell" not our postcode as some systems will take you to the neighbouring town of Coleford rather than the hotel.

From M4/London & Bristol

Travel west on the M4, exit at junction 21 onto M48. Cross the old Severn Bridge and take the first exit after crossing. Follow signs for the A48, follow road over bridge. Take left turn signposted for Coleford/Forest of Dean (B4228), turn right at mini-roundabout in Tutshill (B4228). Follow road through Woodcroft & St Braivels. Before you reach Coleford turn left signposted Clearwell. Turn right at the cross in centre of village, we are 50 metres on the left.

From M4/Cardiff via Monmouth

Travel east on M4, leaving the motorway at junction 24. Take the first left (A449/A40) to Monmouth. At Monmouth traffic lights continue forward (signposted Ross on Wye, Midlands M50). At roundabout take 4th exit back onto A40 in opposite direction, At traffic lights turn left onto the A466 (signposted Chepstow). Next roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted Redbrook/Chepstow (A466). At Redbrook turn left signposted Newland/Clearwell. Follow road through Newland into Clearwell. Turn left at cross in centre of village, we are 50 meters on the left.

From M50/Birmingham & the North

Travel south on M5 leaving the motorway at junction 8. Follow M50 to junction 4, take the 1st exit onto the A40 (signposted Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth). At Monmouth traffic lights turn left onto the A466 (signposted Chepstow). Next roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted Redbrook/Chepstow (A466). At Redbrook turn left signposted Newland/Clearwell. Follow road through Newland into Clearwell. Turn left at the cross in centre of village, we are 50 metres on the left. 

From A48/Gloucester

Travel south on A48 into Lydney. Turn right in Lydney onto B4231 for Bream. Follow this road through Bream then turn right onto B4228 for approximately 100 metres then turn left sign-posted Clearwell. Turn right at the cross in centre of village, we are 50 metres on the left.
