Great value for a short break in the Heart of the Highlands

Dave M. Eaglesham, stayed: September 2020

The hotel is placed in a fabulous location, just a few minutes drive from the A9.
First views of the hotel couldn t fail to impress as we approached through the well maintained grounds to park just opposite the main entrance. It s becoming the norm now to be charged per night for hotel guest parking. It was good to note that parking in the large car park at the Atholl Palace is free with easy level access to the hotel entrance.

Check-in was quick and simple. The hotel has ensured that minimum disruption is caused to guests due to COVID 19 with hand sanitizers available at a number of key locations and with entry and exit routes clearly marked, moving around isn t restricted.

Our valley view room on the first floor was spacious, close to the lift and sunny for most of the day. The en-suite bathroom had been modernised to a very high standard. While we had no problem, climbing into the shower (within the bath) could prove really difficult and a short handrail and shower mat would perhaps provide reassurance to less mobile, elderly guests.

We throughly enjoyed breakfasts and dinners in the spacious bright dining room with beautiful views towards the valley. Plenty of choice was on offer during dinner sittings at 6pm and 8pm when service was quick, friendly, and efficient.

We re so glad we took the opportunity to visit the museum within the hotel. It provides a fascinating insight into the life of the hotel and staff of the Atholl Palace from opening during the reign of Queen Victoria until the present day. Don t miss the opportunity to visit this fascinating and informative museum during your stay.

We really enjoyed our short stay in Pitlochry and we will definitely return to the Atholl Palace.

Relaxing break in classic hotel

Karen, Perthshire, stayed: September 2020

We were unsure as to how much would have changed due to the pandemic restrictions but we had nothing to worry about. The hotel staff were as friendly, helpful and professional as ever. The rooms, private and public were immaculate, the service re rooms was slick and to a high standard. The guidance re social distancing etc was clear and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.
