My first stay at the Atholl Palace Hotel
Good that there was a Defib on site. If required at night and porter is on rounds, valuable time wasted. Should be available at all times to anyone.
Hotel mentions safety of staff and visitors as priority. Signs up for wearing of facial covering in communal areas NOT monitored or acted upon. Has/does the hotel conform to its advertised standards
Staff leaving via front door - entrance only!
Red Lexus car parked in fire assembly area covering signage. How do people know where to go?
Large spacious hotel
Very grand hotel with nice gardens. We were given a map but the grounds did not have signs to tell us where the attractions were for example not sure if we were at the Duck pond or not as no sign and no ducks (maybe we were at the wrong place). We would not know as there was no sign. There were a view people wondering through the grounds with their maps and looking unsure of what they were looking for. But the grounds themselves were lovely. The hotel was clean and our room was lovely and we could open the windows which was a bonus as it was so hot. We had 2 spot lights outside our room and my husband said that "there is no way he can sleep with them shining into the room and you would have thought that you had heard him and these were turned off at a good time. On the first night our husband and I were not impressed with the food. for the second night we asked to spend our allowance on food in the bar and was told that we had to eat in the dining room and that the foot ball was on and we would be more comfortable in the dining room. Thank fully the food was better on the second night. Overall our stay was good. Thank you
Poor standards of hygiene
It was obvious on arrival that the hotel had received an upgrade recently but the style was still old fashioned. I thought dinner was average and breakfast was poor. The worst thing was the service. We were given a table at breakfast and must have waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our order. The breakfast was floating in grease but worst of all I noticed the the tables were not sanitised between use. The lady that cleared the tables was wearing a. Isle that didn t cover her mouth and I saw her wipe her mouth with her hand and then pick up crockery. Shocking standard of hygiene.
Dry disappointing.
