Atholl Palace Hotel

Lovely hotel

Rooms were nice and very warm, but as paid in advance and wife s birthday thought we would have been moved to a more central room and a bit larger as per the photos of the rooms that we paid for as hotel not that full. Food was excellent and staff helpful. SPA facilities bit sparse with heat room not warm at all. Grounds and walks were really nice, but their local map needs updating for walks, as some of the areas over grown.

Pre Christmas break

Excellent short break, for excellent, especially the afternoon tea. Friendly and helpful staff, great frosty weather. Hotel has so much character and Pitlochry is a great little resort. Only minor gripes are only one comfy chair in bedroom, which can be a common feature, and I think the drinks are a little pricey.

Lovely Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Atholl Palace. It is a comfortable hotel with lots of sofa's in front of log fires. Staff are very friendly and so helpful. We had a lovely big room with a king size bed and a view of the hills. We ate in the restaurant every evening and the menu was changed each day and the food was really very good.

The only downside was the heating - it broke down during the first very cold week of this year but we werent told about this by the staff and we weren't updated on its progress. The housekeeper came to see if we were warm enough and when we went back to our room later in the day there was an extra duvet. We only knew it was working when the hotel was warm and you could get a seat near a fire. I feel Management should have been more obvious and available to answer questions
