Room was ok but very little wardrobe space. The shower in room was off the bath taps and was no good - very disappointing.

Booked a room with a valley view - not worth the extra money. Half the view was of a hotel wall! When I complained abou the view and the cleanliness of the bathroom we had been provided (the shower screen was mouldy/dirty) we were offered a room next door. Unfortunately this bathroom was old and decrepit, certainly not an improvement. As this was the only choice available we remained in the original room.

Dinner on the first evening was very good if a little dated. Breakfast next morning was excellent. Dinner on second e evening was more modern but pretty tasteless. Again breakfast next day was excellent.

Overall our stay was ok but we did think it was a bjt expensive. The hotel is now in need of a refurbishment. The spa (including pool) was closed but price didn't seem to reflect this.

Midweek break

Hi I would of given customer service excellent, but certain staff let the hotel down. Particularly some of the restaurant staff. Some restaurant staff didn t know the meaning of customer service. A certain restaurant waitress would only speak to other Scottish guests and made this very clear. Some waiters looked liked they had slept in the work uniform. But majority of staff including reception and the bar were very helpful. The hotel and grounds are lovely. Would visit again when the spa is open.
