Nice place
I think overall it was a nice place to stay .
Great location
We used the spa facilities and had a treatment. when we went to check out we were told we have to pay for the treatment at the spa reception before the treatment as it was after checking out time. When we payed there was confusion on the price of the treatment and they ended up charging more than they quoted originally . This was all sorted very quickly. I suggest that all payments are made at the reception when checking out or in to save confusion .

3 day stay
We were both extremely happy at the Atholl Palace for a three day off peak stay.
We took full advantage of the spa facilities which we thoroughly enjoyed however the tepid room was not functioning correctly. We both had treatments in the spa and Joanne and Donna were absolutely brilliant and should be highly commended. The treatments weren t cheap but we definitely felt that we had value for money
The restaurant was excellent but next time we book we would only do B&B so that we could take advantage of the bar menu as well.
We re definitely coming back and intend to make it an annual break.

How to get here
By Train
Pitlochry Station is on the main rail line between London, Edinburgh and Inverness. Regular trains, and one overnight sleeper train, run through Pitlochry from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. Direct trains between London Kings Cross and Pitlochry run twice daily making London just over 6 hours away.
The station at Pitlochry has a bridge that can be difficult to negotiate for visitors with disabilities. Scotrail will make sure that you have all the assistance you require if you contact them in advance. It takes around 15-20 minutes to walk to Atholl Palace Hotel from the train station. Please bear in mind it is an uphill walk.
By Car
Approaching Pitlochry from the South, take the A924 (signposted for Pitlochry) off the A9. After passing the Blair Athol distillery on your right, continue under a railway bridge and turn right into the Atholl Palace entrance. From the north , take the A924 (signposted for Pitlochry) off the A9. The A924 is the main street through Pitlochry. Continue right through the town and turn sharp left just before the railway bridge.
Getting to Scotland By Air
The closest major airport is Edinburgh, at just over 1 hour away by car. Dundee also has a small airport, which is approximately 45 minutes drive away. Glasgow international is 90 minutes away and Prestwick 2 hours.
