Palace
The hotel was very glamorous and large but still felt personal. The food and service was excellent and the atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was very welcoming. We had the Fontan suite which was unreal. Enjoyed the grounds and a game of golf.
No review title
I would rate this hotel as a 3 star. No bottled water in room, no ironing board, no flannels provided, no porter service and room was tired looking. There was no safe in the room.
Excellent stay
My wife and I travelled from Aberdeenshire to Pitlochry via Braemar and Glenshee through wonderful scenery culminating in a excellent overnight stay at the Atholl Palace Hotel, where we were looked after like royalty. We will make sure we return sgain.

How to get here
By Train
Pitlochry Station is on the main rail line between London, Edinburgh and Inverness. Regular trains, and one overnight sleeper train, run through Pitlochry from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. Direct trains between London Kings Cross and Pitlochry run twice daily making London just over 6 hours away.
The station at Pitlochry has a bridge that can be difficult to negotiate for visitors with disabilities. Scotrail will make sure that you have all the assistance you require if you contact them in advance. It takes around 15-20 minutes to walk to Atholl Palace Hotel from the train station. Please bear in mind it is an uphill walk.
By Car
Approaching Pitlochry from the South, take the A924 (signposted for Pitlochry) off the A9. After passing the Blair Athol distillery on your right, continue under a railway bridge and turn right into the Atholl Palace entrance. From the north , take the A924 (signposted for Pitlochry) off the A9. The A924 is the main street through Pitlochry. Continue right through the town and turn sharp left just before the railway bridge.
Getting to Scotland By Air
The closest major airport is Edinburgh, at just over 1 hour away by car. Dundee also has a small airport, which is approximately 45 minutes drive away. Glasgow international is 90 minutes away and Prestwick 2 hours.
