On Wednesday 15 May, three of our PetsPyjamas team members – Denise, Mel and Ashley – laced up their trainers and hit the paths of Battersea Park for a very special cause: the Bark Run for Businesses, organised by the wonderful team at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

This fantastic 5K event brought together dog-loving businesses from across the capital, all running to raise vital funds for Battersea’s ongoing mission to care for and rehome thousands of dogs and cats in need.

We were treated to glorious Spring sunshine, and the event kicked off with an upbeat warm-up session that got tails wagging (and hearts racing!) before we set off on the beautiful riverside route around the park. The weather was gorgeous and the atmosphere was full of positivity and camaraderie. A shared love of dogs uniting runners from all walks of life.

Denise, Mel and Ashley are all regular runners so really enjoyed the event, encouraging each other every step of the way. Whether sprinting or strolling, everyone completed the course with big smiles. Whilst also being careful to dodge a few cyclists and dogs straying into their path!

At the finish line, every participant was rewarded with a Battersea medal and a well-earned sense of achievement. But the highlight of the day? Getting to meet some of Battersea’s adorable four-legged residents who are still waiting for their forever homes. There were plenty of puppy cuddles and wagging tails – a perfect reminder of why we were all running in the first place.

We’re incredibly proud to have taken part in this pawsome event and to support the incredible work that Battersea does. Huge thanks to the organisers for a brilliant Bark Run and to all the other teams who joined in the fun.

Want to support Battersea too? Find out more about the amazing work they do – and how you can help – over at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Look out for more behind-the-scenes tails from the PetsPyjamas pack!
