Me & My Pet: Rosie & Stan

We caught up with Instagram sensation and global icon @Stanthehotdawg – better known as Stan the Dawg – to chat all things pup life with him and his favourite human, Rosie. A true North London local, Stan is a certified people pup who starts each day with a puppuccino at his favourite café and never misses a chance to make new friends (furry or otherwise). From charming baristas to turning heads on city strolls, Stan’s got star power – so much so that Rosie was once stopped by fans of the sausage-shaped celeb all the way in the Outer Hebrides!

Tell us all about yourself – how old are you, what breed?

I’m five years old and a proud scruffy dachshund. I love attention and I have a talent for stealing hearts.

How do you always manage to look so cute!

I’ve been told I’m a puppy dog eye connoisseur. It’s all in the eyes.

What was it about Rosie that made you choose her as your dog mum?

She gave me lots of attention and treatos — a winning combo.

How did you become a dogfluencer with such a big following?

It all started because my mum couldn’t stop taking photos of me… and apparently, neither could anyone else! I just seem to make people smile — whenever someone walks past me in the street, their face lights up. It’s always been that way. Things took off pretty quickly from there.

What is a typical day for you and Rosie?

We start the day with a flat white (her) and a puppuccino (me) at our local in North London. Then I nap under her desk while she works, before a proper lunchtime walk around the fountains in Stoke Newington. Evenings are for sofa snuggles and snoring through her favourite reality TV shows…

Do you have a best friend/s? Human or dog?

I’m more of a people person – they give better strokes! But my best dog mate is Merlin the whippet — an elegant guy I’ve known since I was a pup. And my favourite human (aside from Rosie) is my uncle Will — he makes regular guest appearances on my Insta.

What are your favourite parks and cafes?

Highbury Fields and Clissold Park are my daily haunts, but I love Hampstead Heath on weekends with the grandparents. I’m also a big fan of two cafes, Peche Mignon and Profile, and Harvest, a dog-friendly grocery shop that gives treats at the checkout (elite service, if you ask me).

What difference has Rosie made to your life, and any life lessons she’s taught you?

She’s taken me everywhere — even on family trips to the wildest parts of Scotland. But between us, I think I’ve taught her more — like how to live in the moment, stay positive, and never say no to a snack.

Any funny incidents you’d like to tell us about?

We once went to a tiny island in the Outer Hebrides and bumped into Stan fans from America. Global icon, me.

Anything you feel strongly about when it comes to animal welfare?

Every pet deserves a life full of love, care, and kindness. One of our heroes is Niall Harbison, who rescues street dogs in Thailand and gives them the safety and affection they’ve always deserved. My mum would love to visit his sanctuary one day and support the incredible work he’s doing. We believe all animals should be treated with compassion.

Anywhere you and Rosie would like to travel with PetsPyjamas?

We’d love a little London staycation — my mum’s been wanting a mini break and I never say no to a new place to sniff. I’ll bring the poses!
