Old style elegance
A perfect location for visiting the coastal towns, which was the purpose of our stay.
All the staff were friendly and approachable. We only had one evening meal, on the day of our arrival. Good choice on the menu and good sized portions.
Breakfasts were first rate and set us up for the day.
Thus is an old property so expect things to feel that way. Air conditioning - open the window which is what we did, never heard anything all night.
Would we go back? Yes, for the ambience that these older properties offer.
Weekend Wedding Anniversary Break
This was a weekend break to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a bonus for us was the hotel is dog friendly.
From the start with the gorgeous rhododendron tree lined driveway to the fabulous old country house, we felt immediately relaxed on arrival. The grounds are stunning, with plenty of space for the digs to enjoy.
The staff were super friendly which help us relax further.
The room was huge, queen sized bed, sofa & chairs to lounge on plus big bathroom. Views from the window of the gardens and surrounding countryside too.
The bottle of bubbly on ice was a lovely touch too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the chance to explore the near by Whitby.
Based on this visit we will visit Country Hotel Breaks again.
Relaxing break
Grinkle Park is a lovely hotel and this was our 5th visit and the first time the rhododendrons and Azalias have been in bloom along the drive and in the gardens,
The swifts also like this hotel as they return each year to nest in the entrance porch!
